Dental Exam
A full look at teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissue, with the measurements written down so next year's visit can be compared to this one.
An examination of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, and the soft tissue of your mouth and throat, usually paired with x-rays and a cleaning.
Dr. Ladhar checks each tooth and every existing filling or crown, your hygienist charts gum measurements around each tooth, and we review x-rays together on the screen so you can see what we see.
Most dental problems are cheap and easy early and expensive and unpleasant late. The exam is how the difference gets caught, and the charting is how slow changes become visible.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about dental exam.
Everyone, about twice a year. If it has been several years, come anyway. Nobody here will lecture you about the gap, and it is a more common story than you would think.
Looking, measuring, and talking. No drilling and nothing uncomfortable. If we do find something, you will hear about the options and the cost before anything is scheduled.
About an hour with a cleaning. A first visit runs closer to ninety minutes because of the full x-ray series and a complete set of gum measurements.
Bring your insurance card and a list of your medications. Blood pressure medication, bisphosphonates, and blood thinners all change how we plan treatment.
Nothing to recover from. You will leave with a written plan if anything needs doing, listed in the order it matters rather than all at once.
