A titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth, so the replacement is anchored in bone rather than to other teeth.
An implant replaces the root. A post is placed into the jawbone, bone grows around it over a few months, and a crown is then attached on top of it.
Dr. Ladhar plans the position on a 3D scan before any surgery, places the implant, and then waits for it to integrate with the bone. The crown comes afterward, once the foundation is solid.
It is the only option that replaces a tooth without involving the teeth either side, and because it sits in bone it also slows the bone loss that follows losing a tooth.

Placement is done with local anesthetic, and sedation is available. Most people report it as easier than a difficult extraction, which surprises them.
Placement is about an hour. Integration then takes three to six months before the crown goes on, so the full timeline is measured in months, not visits.
Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes both raise the failure rate meaningfully. Implants are also rarely covered well by dental insurance, so ask Anna to price the whole sequence.
